World of Grains Cookies- world of goodness

Oh the perks of being a dietitian. I opened my front door to find a huge package on my doorstep. Did I order new furniture? A new grill? A bicycle? Nope. I received a complementary, massive 5’ tall box of World of Grains cookies. Cookies for life, I should say. (And yes I will be sampling these out to clients, as promised!)

But these aren’t just any cookies made by Mars. They’re flavorful, crunchy, individually packed cookies made with 8 whole grains. I bet you wouldn’t think that buckwheat and quinoa in a cookie would taste very good, but this company found a way. The cookies are a good source of fiber (3g per serving!), contain omega-3s, and at 130 calories per pack, they’re perfectly satisfying in any caloric budget.

The cookies come in apple cinnamon, blueberry, cranberry, multigrain, and oatmeal raisin. My current favorite is the blueberry – I can tell there are actual whole blueberries in there. No imitation blue-colored candies. My only con is the 1+ gram of saturated fat per serving, which is likely from the butter ingredient. But besides that, these are a great snack to pack in your purse, backpack, car, office, or kid’s lunch for a sweet treat that contains a world of goodness.

In the Boston area, these are sold at Whole Foods, Shaw’s and Hannaford. Pick up a pack today – let me know what you think!
